IndiGo imposes Rs 300-Rs 1,000 'fuel charge', others set to follow suit

IndiGo, the leading domestic airline in India, will impose a distance-based "fuel charge" ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 on all its flights due to the increase in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices. Other airlines are also expected to follow suit as the rising jet fuel prices and weakening rupee have put significant pressure on their operating costs. Indian carriers have been requesting government relief on ATF prices, but without success.
